Book of Travels is a unique multiplayer game by Might and Delight that focuses on exploration and storytelling. Instead of traditional combat and quests, you roam the beautifully hand-painted world of Braided Shore at your own pace, uncovering secrets and creating your own adventures.
With its serene atmosphere and rare, meaningful interactions with other players, the game offers a tranquil and immersive experience. Customize your character with various skills and backgrounds, and enjoy a journey where the story is yours to tell.
As a Junior Narrative Designer at Might and Delight, I contributed to the development of Book of Travels, currently available in Early Access. My role involved writing, designing, and implementing dialogue, quests, NPCs, items, and events, enriching the immersive world of Braided Shore.
I also took part in studio-wide playtests organized by the QA team to test new features and address bugs or other issues. With each update, I had the opportunity to see players react to my work, providing valuable experience and feedback that helped refine my skills in narrative design and improve the overall player experience.
The development team at Might and Delight operated in two-week sprints, utilizing Jira to manage sprints and track task tickets. We used GitHub and Sourcetree for version control, ensuring smooth collaboration and integration of new content.
I created and implemented various narrative elements, importing my work into the game engine using .csv files. To bring these elements to life, I used scriptable objects to develop NPCs, items, and events within the engine. This structured workflow allowed me to efficiently develop and iterate on my contributions, enriching the evolving world of Book of Travels.
